Yarra Valley Grammar musicians have achieved outstanding results at this year’s Victorian School Music Festival (VSMF), with all 11 participating ensembles receiving either a Gold or Platinum Award.
Students represented the School across Strings, Bands, Jazz and Choir, achieving an impressive six Platinum and five Gold Awards across the Festival.
Our Strings ensembles delivered strong performances, with Concert Strings receiving Platinum, while Symphony Orchestra and Intermezzo Strings were each awarded Gold.
It was an exceptional result for our Bands, with all three ensembles receiving Platinum Awards. Symphonic Band, Intermediate Band and Concert Band each earned the Festival’s highest award in their respective divisions.
In Jazz, Big Band received a Platinum Award, while Project X and Zoned In were both awarded Gold. Our Choirs also enjoyed success, with Senior Chamber Choir receiving Platinum and Intermediate Chamber Choir receiving Gold.
The results were complemented by extremely positive adjudicator feedback throughout the Festival, recognising the quality of our students’ performances across the different musical disciplines.
With achievements spanning orchestral strings, concert bands, jazz and choral music, the results reflect the breadth and strength of Yarra Valley Grammar’s Music program, as well as the commitment of the many students and staff involved.
