ST PATRICK’S COLLEGE, STRATHFIELD

St Patrick’s College, Strathfield, founded in 1928, is a Catholic boys’ school under the governance of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA). The college provides quality education for boys from Year 5 to Year 12.

Facilities: The college provides modern well- equipped classrooms including specialist rooms for Science, Computing Studies, Design and Technology including CAD and Industrial Technology, Visual Arts and Performing Arts. Two well-resourced Libraries cater for all Year groups. There is a main oval in the heart of the campus, with three adjacent playing fields, a gymnasium with weight and fitness training facilities, a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts and cricket nets. The Music Centre provides various performance spaces.

Co-curricular activities: Involvement in co-curricular activities is compulsory for all students. Sporting activities include cricket, rugby, football, athletics and cross country, basketball, baseball, tennis and swimming. Softball and Australian Rules (Junior School only). The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme operates at the college. Cultural activities offered include debating, public speaking, mock trial, drama and musical productions as well as band, choral and orchestral programs. There is a strong Social Justice Action Group and Faith in Action Group at the college.

Special features: The Diverse Learning team caters to students with identified learning needs including those requiring support and assistance as well as those with special gifts. Specialised staff work in both learning support and gifted education.

Enrolment: Applications for possible enrolment are accepted from birth. The normal intake is in Year 5, however places in other Year groups occur from time to time. Intended applicants are strongly encouraged to register their interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. A limited number of scholarships for Years 11 and 12 are available to current students who display commitment to academic excellence.
