Pymble Ladies’ College was founded by Dr  John Marden, a man who believed that women should be given the best that education had to offer and encouraged girls to think for themselves and live by the college motto: “All’ Ultimo Lavoro” — “Strive for the Highest”.

Today, Pymble Ladies’ College exemplifies the spirit of its founder as an exceptional school for the education of girls and young women. “Our five core values of care, courage, integrity, respect and responsibility encapsulate the spirit of the college and underpin the ethos of our community service program,” says Principal Vicki Waters. “Students are empowered to strive for excellence, but are also motivated to be equally committed to service and social justice through contributing back to the community and supporting charities.”

Pymble Ladies’ College offers a worldclass learning environment that provides opportunities for excellence in academic studies, sport and the arts, a comprehensive curriculum with outstanding facilities and a nurturing pastoral care program that recognises each girl’s unique strengths and qualities. Students are encouraged to explore a vast array of programs while benefiting from smaller class sizes and specialist teachers.

“The philosophy at the school is to offer girls an extensive and diverse range of opportunities at every level of schooling and to help nurture confidence and self-esteem,” says Ms Waters. The college provides a happy, safe and nurturing environment, offering more opportunities to pursue a balanced education encompassing life skills, personal development, physical wellbeing, creative fulfilment and academic excellence.

“Pymble fosters the development of leadership in all students and nurtures each girl’s growth towards becoming a more capable, caring, confident, independent young woman with a strong sense of social responsibility,” says Ms Waters.
