St Scholastica’s College — affectionately known as “Schols” — has been educating young women for 140 years, instilling values which have their foundations in the Catholic faith and the inspiration of the Parable of the Good Samaritan in the Gospel (Luke 10: 25–37).

Welfare and personal development: St Scholastica’s College invests substantially in the overall mental and physical wellbeing of its students. The Assistant Principal Pastoral Care and Wellbeing, two full-time Counsellors and six Heads of Year, one for each year, know and understand the pressures that can build among girls and young women. They help students acquire and sustain the resilience and mental strength needed to maximise performance at school. Heads of Year work with the College Counsellors, as required, to support students in the year group. For both parents and girls, the Heads of Year are important points of contact when issues arise that may affect a student’s ability to participate in school life. The Heads of Year, Homeroom teachers and the Heads of Department collaborate to build relationships with the students.
Special features: Opportunities for local community outreach and immersion in the works of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan domestically and abroad add great depth to the experiences at Schols. A broad range of social justice initiatives underpins the school’s faith inaction and builds a strong sense of other. Benedictine values, the story of the Good Samaritan and the life of Christ are the foundation stones of college life. The college motto is PAX, or Peace, a universal longing, which is promoted by developing young women who, through the way they live their lives, help create peaceful, generous and tolerant communities.
