The McDonald College Celebrates Outstanding 2024 HSC Results: A Testament to Academic and Artistic Excellence

The McDonald College is thrilled to announce exceptional 2024 HSC results, placing 83^rd in the state and 43rd within the independent schools. This remarkable achievement underscores the dedication and resilience of our students who not only excelled academically but also consistently shone on the stage, proving that artistic pursuits and academic rigour go hand in hand.

With 38 “Distinguished Achiever” results, our students demonstrated exceptional academic prowess across a wide range of subjects, from STEM disciplines to the creative arts.

A Harmonious Blend of Talent:

• Mollie Rytmeister, our 2024 College DUX with an ATAR of 98.55, achieved a perfect score of 100 in Dance, placing 2nd in the state. This extraordinary feat exemplifies the harmonious blend of artistic and academic excellence that defines our students.
• Ashu Miwa secured 1st place in the state for Chinese Beginners, scoring an impressive 99.
• Annie Wu excelled in Visual Arts with a mark of 97, Design and Technology with a mark of 98, and also achieved a commendable 95 in Dance.

A Stage for Every Student:

• 71% of our Dance class achieved Band 6 results, a testament to the exceptional dance program at The McDonald College.
• Students consistently achieved high scores in Dance, Drama, English Advanced, Music, and Visual Arts, demonstrating a flourishing creative spirit alongside academic excellence.
