Inaburra’s mission is to be a Christ-centred learning community pursuing excellence in education with every individual known and loved. The motto of Inaburra is “Faith, Knowledge, Love”. Biblical studies is part of the curriculum for Kindergarten to Year 12 and the Christian world view is taught across the curriculum.

Facilities: Inaburra has a modern and well-equipped campus set in the leafy suburb of Bangor, featuring modern classrooms, a Performing Arts Centre with a 650-seat auditorium, a digital TV Editing Suite with Audio-visual Mixing Rooms, drama studio, extensive computing resources, library, gymnasium, Learning Commons and After-school Study Centre.

Kindergarten to Year 6: Inaburra offers an innovative and exciting academic program in the Junior School (K to 6), facilitated by experienced classroom practitioners. Year 6 students are taught by specialist secondary teachers in Science, Visual Arts, Media and Chinese (Mandarin).

Electives Years 9 to 10: Commerce, Geography, History, Visual Arts, Food Technology, Technics (Metal/Auto, Wood), Engineering, Textiles Technology, Design and Technology, Chinese (Mandarin), Music, Drama, Media and Computing Studies.

Elective Years 11 and 12: English, Ancient and Modern History, Chemistry, Economics, Community and Family Studies, Legal Studies, Physics, Food Technology, Mathematics, Music, Visual Arts, Biology, Geography, Legal Studies, Information Processes and Technology, Software Design and Development, Business Studies, Design and Technology, Studies of Religion, Drama, Chinese (Mandarin), Media & Communications, PD/ Health/PE, VOCED courses.

Sport: The goal of our school sports program across Years 7 -10 is to encourage students to engage in physical activity over the course of their lives, through their participation in a range of different types of physical activity while at school. During weekly sports there will be a focus on skill development designed to supplement the learning taking place in PE lessons.

Throughout the year students will be participating in either 2, 3 or 4 week rotations of a variety of sports including amongst others gymnastics, swimming lessons, court games, fitness, tennis, bush walking, self-defence, bush walking, golf, indoor sports, volleyball and field games.

Co-curricular activities: Inaburra has an outstanding co-curricular program in music with a strong emphasis on performance from K-12 with opportunity for students of all levels of ability to be involved in music making. The school offers four Concert Bands, two Stage bands, three Choirs, two Percussion Ensembles, three String Ensembles, Saxophone Quartet and Brass Ensemble. All school ensembles participate in many performance opportunities throughout the year, within the school community as well as locally, nationally and internationally, with the senior ensembles having toured to Tasmania, the Gold Coast, New Zealand, the USA and Japan.

Music is a performing art and as such we place a high emphasis on the development of skill in this area. We also have a number of events throughout the year aimed at encouraging and inspiring young musicians. Peripatetic tutoring is offered as part of the cocurricular music program.

Inaburra competes regularly in HISES debating and public speaking competitions. There are a number of youth groups including Flourish for girls and Man-Up for boys, plus a student elected SRC. Inaburra is pleased to be a Duke of Edinburgh Award Unit and supports participants as they strive towards achieving their individual goals. There are extra costs for some activities.

Special features: Inaburra has adopted a Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) approach for students in Years 5-12. This program is supported by an experienced ICT team who ensure appropriate and responsible use of technology in the classroom.
