Founded in 1982, Inaburra School is a leading independent Christian school based in the southern suburbs of Sydney. With 1040 students, Inaburra’s mission is to be “a Christ-centred learning community pursuing excellence in education with every individual known and loved”. Facilities: Inaburra’s campus is designed for integrated learning for all students across the school. It features a newly opened world-class facility that includes a Stage 3 Learning Centre, Junior School Sensory Playground Centre and Senior Learning Commons that also facilitates an after-school study program. Other features include a modern 650-seat Performing Arts Centre, a digital TV edit suite with audio-visual mixing rooms, a drama studio, music rehearsal studios, gymnasium and all-weather play areas.
Junior School: The teaching staff in the Inaburra Junior School are professional, dedicated and dynamic Christian educators who hold a passion for developing the capacity of young children. Students are offered programs in Chinese (Mandarin), PE and music; each taught by specialist teachers. Each class in the Junior School offers opportunities which allow for a differentiated curriculum.
Senior School: The formal curriculum at Inaburra follows the syllabi of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) which culminates in the award of the HSC at the end of Year 12. An extensive range of subjects are offered to senior students who are supported by specialist educators and tutors in their learning.
Senior subjects and electives: Students have a varied program of learning in Years 7 and 8, where the following subjects are offered: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Biblical Studies, Chinese, PDHPE, Information Technology, Technology subjects (covering Food, Wood, Metal, Design), Music and Art. In Years 9 and 10 all students in NSW study the following mandatory subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Australian Geography Civics and Citizenship, Australian History Civics and Citizenship, Physical Development, Health and Physical Education, Computer Skills and Biblical Studies.
Sport: Inaburra offers a sports program that caters for all levels of athletic ability. The school has a long history of strong representation in the NSW Christian Schools Sporting Association (CSSA) and Combined Independent Schools (CIS) competitions at the state level. Elite athletes have also represented the school at the All Schools National Championships, the National Christian School Games and at the Pacific Games held every four years.
Co-curricular activities: Inaburra has developed a strong reputation for robust programs in music, dance and drama, media studies, computing and global education.
