UNLEY HIGH SCHOOL


Unley High School is a comprehensive secondary school with a history and tradition dating back to 1910. The school prides on their record of academic success, sporting involvement, student wellbeing and connection with families. As a school community, they are committed to achievement. They have set two goals for improvement. One is to increase student engagement and achievement and the other to increase community connection. They are always seeking to improve the practice and every teacher makes a personal commitment to improve student engagement and achievement. The school community actively promotes a culture of excellence in all areas. Students are expected to display honesty and respect in all of their dealings and to take personal responsibility for their behaviour. The school promotes co‐operative working relationships between all members of the school community and have parents as partners in student learning.

Facilities: Student Services, Counselling Centre, Assembly hall, four playing fields and six tennis courts; Technology, Home Economics, Art, Design and Science Teaching facilities.

Sport: Southern Zone Sport, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Indoor Soccer, Ssoccer, Table Tennis, Tennis, Touch, Volleyball, Secondary School Sport SA.

Extracurricular activities: Air Force Cadets, Chess, Debating, Drama Productions, Environmental Group, Peer Support program, Public Speaking, Tournament of Minds, Choir, String Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz, Camps, Peer Support Leaders’ Training, Ski Trip, Rowing and Outdoor Education Camps; State and National competitions include IBM and Westpac Maths, Oliphant Science and the National Chemistry Quiz; School Musical.

Welfare and personal development:  Student Counsellors, Christian Pastoral Support Worker, Course and Career Counselling, Personal Learning Plan course.

Special features: English as a Second Language to students across Years 8‐12; LINK Program for students with physical disabilities.
