STUART HIGH SCHOOL


Stuart High School, in Whyalla, is a year 8-12 site serving a wide range of student needs. Curriculum offerings are diverse, with special interest areas such as Active 8, Aquaculture, Horticulture, Specialist PE, The South Australian Aboriginal Sports Training Academy, Youth Opportunities Personal Leader Ship Programme and extension programmes for students’ displaying additional gifts. We have 26 teaching staff and 21 support staff.

Facilities: Gymnasium, Technology, Aboriginal Education, Drama, Science, Art, Music and Home Economics and Aquaculture/Horticulture areas, Computing facilities.

Electives Years 7 to 10: Mathematics, English and Science, History and Social Science (HASS) Health/Physical Education, Japanese, Music, Art, Drama, Technology and Food & Nutrition.

Sport: Knockout Sport.

Extracurricular activities: Camps, Excursions, Public Speaking activities, clubs, Fundraising and Community Service activities, Aquatic activities.

Welfare and personal development: Student Counsellor, Aboriginal Community Education Officer, Care Group, Youth Opportunities Personal Leadership Programmes.

Special features: Aquaculture and Horticulture facility, Specialist Flexible Learning, Touring Concert Band, Year 10 Specialist Physical Education Course, SAASTA.
