ST LEO’S CATHOLIC COLLEGE

Situated in extensive grounds in the leafy North Shore, St Leo’s has
a strong tradition in the formation of confident, competent Catholic young men
and women of conscience offering quality education which promotes excellence
and a passion for learning in a Catholic context. The House Ministry system
challenges each member of the school community to make a positive in our global
society.

Facilities: Modern facilities include a College hall, chapel, art
centre, TAS workshops, commercial-grade kitchen (Hospitality), music centre and
rehearsal studios, drama hall, canteen, two large shaded outdoor recreational
areas, Donnelly Oval, a well-equipped library, Technology Centre, and a secure
wireless environment and one-to-one laptop program. 

Each classroom is fitted out with a data projector and sound system.

Electives Years 11 and 12: A broad curriculum catering for
individual interests and abilities includes a Gifted and Talented program,
English (all levels), Maths (all levels), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Senior
Science, Business Studies, Modern History, Ancient History, Society and
Culture, German, Economics, Legal Studies, Music, Design and Technology, Food
Technology, Software and Design, Business Services, Building and Construction,
Information Processes Software & Design, VET Hospitality, Information
Technology, Community and Family Studies, PD/Health/PE, VET Entertainment, Studies of
Religion and Catholic Studies as well as Drama.

Sport: Representative and school-based sport in the following areas:
rugby league, soccer, basketball, netball, tennis, cricket, volleyball,
swimming, softball, athletics, touch football, aerobics and gymnastics.

Extracurricular activities: A wide co-curricular program includes
opportunities for sporting representation and performing arts representation,
debating, public speaking, music tuition, bands, musical soirees, drama
productions, Outdoor Education Program, Retreat Program and Mock Trial.

Welfare and personal development: The College has a Director of
Pastoral Care, Director of Senior School, Director of Middle School, Year
co-ordinators, counsellor, and a Youth Minister to attend to the needs of
students.

Special features: The special needs of all students are catered for,
including those who are gifted and those who find school difficult. Gifted
students are catered for in a variety of ways including acceleration, gifted
classes, special interest projects, online projects, and competitions. Students
with learning difficulties are catered for by integration with some support,
modified work, Living Skills School Certificate and the Higher School
Certificate.
