Oakbank Area School is a unique and vibrant school, providing holistic education in a caring, safe, family environment, situated in an attractive location between the small towns of Balhannah and Oakbank.

As Oakbank Area School is the only Reception to Year 12 state school in the Adelaide Hills region, They are able to offer a seamless transition into secondary education. The school provides a comprehensive and progressive curriculum that allows individuals to discover and develop new skills, new ideas and competencies for tertiary studies or employment.

A major focus for the school is to develop student responsibility for their learning. Oakbank Area School is committed to student achievement of SACE, an ATAR or a vocational placement.

Facilities: Specialist Facilities and Equipment: School Hall and Gymnasium, Ovals, Modern Learning Centre, Computer suites; Technology workshops with facilities for woodwork, metalwork and digital photography; Performing Arts Facilities; Specialist Art and Home Economics spaces; 10 hectare agriculture grounds including a shearing shed, laboratory operations facility and an industry standard Winery and Apple Production facility.

Electives Years 7 to 10: Art, Drama, English, Health and Physical Education, Mathematics, Design and Technology and Science including Agriculture.

Electives Years 11 and 12: South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) curriculum, Vocational Education studies (VET).

Sport: Acquatics Camp, SAPSASA and SASSA.

Extracurricular activities: Camps, the Royal Adelaide Show: Cooking, Photography, Led Steer, Led Goat, Year 12 Formal, Instrumental Music Training, Operation Flinders, Duke of Edinburgh.

Welfare and personal development: Christian Pastoral Support

Special features: Sister school arrangement with Ikeda Senior High School in Osaka, Japan.
