Established in 1982 Nanango State High School is a small rural secondary high school of about 500 students. Nanango has a proud tradition in both curricula and extra curricula activities. The school has modern facilities that allow students to experience many ‘real world’ experiences at school. There is also a laptop program for senior students and the school has excellent Information communication technology (ICT) facilities. The school prides itself on providing individual programs for all students.

Facilities: Trade training centre, SEP department, multi-purpose covered sporting area, community hall, computer labs, science labs, tuckshop, student services.

Authority Registered subjects – Agricultural, Early Childhood Studies, English Communication, Hospitality, Information & Communications Technology (ICT,) Pre-vocational Mathematics, Recreation, Science in Practice, Visual Art Studies (VAS).

Vocational Education & Training – Business Studies, Certificate II in Business Engineering, Certificate I in Engineering Manufacturing, Certificate II in Manufacturing Technology

Sport: Volleyball, Rugby League and Netball plus Equestrian team.

Extracurricular activities: Kingaroy Eisteddfod, biennial FANFARE competition, ANZAC Day ceremonies, district music camps, SPOTS Concert and community events.
