NAMBOUR STATE HIGH SCHOOL


Nestled in the foothills of the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Nambour State High School has a proud history of providing a modern education to all students while maintaining traditional values. Past alumni have included numerous politicians including a former Prime Minister and Federal Treasurer, international musical performers, business leaders and medical professionals. The school has a proud 76 year history.

In 2013 Nambour State High School became an Independent Public School and also a trial school for the Flying Start for Queensland Children project that has seen Year 7 students welcomed into the school community.

Sport: Athletics, Australian Football, Basketball, Cricket, Cross Country, Football (Soccer), Futsal, Netball, Rugby League, Touch Football, Snow Trip, Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball.

Extracurricular activities: International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS), Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers (QAMT) Year 8 Maths Competition, Sunshine Coast Mathematics Teams Challenge, Australian Mathematics Competition, Australasian Science Competition, Debating, Chess Club, Chemistry Competition, Double Helix Club, Various “Youth of the Year” competitions, M.E.R.I.T. Programs.

Welfare and personal development: Career Guidance Counsellors, Form teachers, Heads of Year, Heads of Department, Heads of Junior and Senior Schooling, Heads of Special Education and Social Justice.
