MILTABURRA AREA SCHOOL

Miltaburra Area School caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 12 and is somewhat unique in that it is not supported by a township, but rather small rural and coastal communities, the closest being 23km to the east. Students travel to school by bus. The school has well-designed and resourced buildings complemented by extensive grounds. The motto, ‘Working Together to Build Our Future’, underscores the values of respect, cooperation and achievement.

Facilities: Wide verandah and extra pergola areas, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, 7.5 hectare site, well grassed oval, Cricket Pitch, Basketball and Tennis Courts, Computing Suite, Technical Studies centre, Home Economics Centre, DUCT and Television rooms, Canteen.

Sport: Intra and inter school sporting competitions, SAPSASA, WASSAC and Sun Smart games.

Extracurricular activities: Tree-planting activities, Religious Education, Socials and Blue Light discos with neighbouring schools.

Welfare and personal development: Pastoral Care programs.

Special features: Special needs support through ancillary support and withdrawal areas;  Landcare programmes, Sustainable Futures Learning Centre based on renewable energy, hydroponics and aquaculture, VET/EVE programs.
