Subjects/Electives Years 7 to 10: Core subjects – Maths, English, Science, History, Health and Physical Education (HPE), Languages Other Than English (LOTE). Elective subjects – Introduction to Home Economics, Introduction to Workshop Practices, Business and Enterprise, Music, Visual Arts, Drama, Dance.
Classes in Year 10 offer students an advanced program in English, Maths, and Science, as well as an opportunity to participate in problem solving activities, national and global competitions, and robotics. The curriculum is based on higher order thinking and inquiry-based learning.

Maryborough State High, as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivers certificate qualifications across a number of curriculum areas including Certificate II in Business Services, Certificate III in Children’s Services, Certificate II in Hairdressing, Certificate II in Hospitality, Certificate I & II in Information, Digital Media and Technology (IDMT), Certificate II in Retail Make-Up and Skin Care, Certificate II in Music, Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation, Certificate I & II in Visual Arts, Manufacturing Pre-Trade, Certificate I & II in Boating Services (Boat Building), Certificate I & II in Engineering, Certificate I & II in Furniture Making.
