LOCK AREA SCHOOL

Lock Area School is centrally located on the Eyre Peninsula in broad acre cereal cropping farming country. It is, approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Port Lincoln, and 50 minutes from either of Cummins or Wudinna Area Schools. It caters for children beginning in Reception and being able to complete their stage 2 of the SACE although officially it is an R- 10 site.

Facilities: Community library, JP classrooms, reverse cycle airconditioners or evaporative cooling units, Maths room, Science lab, Art room, Pottery shed, Technical Studies room, Home Economics room, Computer Room and Assembly room, Computer room.

Subjects/Electives Years 7 to 10: Indonesian, VET and school based apprenticeships.

Sport: Rugby, Netball, 9 a side Football, SAPSASA and SASSSA.

Extracurricular activities: Musical, camping programme, choirs, Youth Pathways.

Welfare and personal development: Secondary Coordinator/ Counsellor.

Special features: Learning Support, Festival of Choirs, Vocational training through VET courses, traineeships and School Based New Apprenticeships.
