KIMBA AREA SCHOOL


Kimba Area School is a DECS (Department of Education and Children’s Services) school.

The School is located in the township of Kimba which is a farming community on Eyre Peninsula. The school services the town as well as students living in farming areas within a 60 km radius. The school is located on West Terrace and caters for approximately 190 students from Reception to Year 12.

Facilities: Air-conditioned classrooms, school community library, swimming pool complex, Home Economics kitchen, Science wet area and play room, additional shades and outdoor learning/gym building, year 11/12 study room, interactive white boards, data projectors and speakers, specialist learning areas, distance education is provided.

Subjects/Electives Years 7 to 10: English, Mathematics, Science, Society and Environment, Home Economics, Technology Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education, Life Skills, Integrated Negotiated Curriculum.

Subjects/Electives Years 11 and 12: English, Mathematics, Science, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Society and Environment, Home Economics, Design and Technology, ICT and IPP, Physical Education, Community Studies, Extension Studies, Art, Music, VET subjects and IT.

Sport: SAPSASA and SASSSA, track and field, Sports Day, Swimming Carnival, Tennis SA workshops.

Extracurricular activities: Musical production, camps and excursions.

Welfare and personal development: Pastoral Care programs literacy and numeracy support, DECD Speech Pathologist.

Special features: Vocational Education Coordinator, Distance Education.
