Gordonvale State High School is a co-educational secondary school located 26 minutes south of the city of Cairns and provides all students with quality facilities and teaching programs to enhance their learning. Authority Registered subjects – Agricultural Practices, English Communication, Industrial Graphics, Industrial Skills, Aquatic Practices, Pre-Vocational Mathematics, Music Studies, Recreational Studies Social and Community Studies, Short Courses in Literacy and Numeracy, Certificate II Creative Industries (Media), Certificate II in Visual Arts.

Extracurricular activities: Active support of local charitable events, celebration of local and national commemorative occasions, participation in sporting events, public speaking and debating competitions, ‘VIVID’ cultural nights, musical, theatrical, artistic and sporting presentations.

Welfare and personal development: Chaplain, Guidance Officer.
