CABOOLTURE STATE HIGH SCHOOL

Caboolture State High School was opened in 1961 and was the first high school established in the Caboolture area. With a student population of around 1200, the school is located 50 minutes north of the Brisbane CBD and is well serviced by arterial roads and public transport.

The school is highly regarded by the local and wider community and has achieved outstanding achievements in academic, cultural, citizenship and sporting areas. Caboolture State High School offers a number of unique educational pathways which cater for the diverse interests of students, including agricultural studies, LearnIT (an information technology immersion laptop program), and trade training at its federally funded College of Civil Infrastructure and Construction. The school is proud of the high quality education that is provided to all students.

Facilities: Caboolture State High School enjoys full air-conditioning and large grounds which include five separate sports fields and an agricultural farm. Recent refurbishments mean students have the opportunity to learn in modern, state-of-the-art facilities such as a new science and computing laboratories. A new library also makes a great space for teaching, studying and relaxing for a read. Projects over the last ten years have added the College of Civil Infrastructure and Construction, performing arts and visual arts buildings and industrial kitchens. The school’s gymnasium, hall and performing arts facilities are available for hire.

Electives Years 11 and 12: The school offers Authority subjects (preparation for tertiary entrance), Authority-registered subjects (practical/skilled based subjects), Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificate courses (direct entry into the workforce or for further education and training), school-based apprenticeships or traineeships, recognised subjects/courses from Training and Further Education (TAFE) and universities.

The school’s vocational programs are nationally-recognised certificate courses and involve industry-recognised competencies. Certificate courses are offered in the areas of Agriculture, Business, Construction, Engineering, Furnishing, Hospitality, Information Technology, Resources and Infrastructure Operations, Sport and Recreation, and Work Education.
