ASHFIELD BOYS HIGH

Ashfield Boys High School aims to inspire every boy to strive for personal excellence and reach
his full potential as a man. Each student is viewed as an individual, and the school’s structures support and develop talent in a wide variety of fields. Teaching, learning and wellbeing programs are based on current research and are tailored to the specific learning needs of boys. Students are supported to become independent learners who integrate knowledge from different areas and apply this to real-life situations. The aim of this approach is to support the academic, social and ethical development of young men so that they have the skills to thrive in the 21st century. The school also offers an extension curriculum for gifted and talented students.

Facilities: Modern library, multimedia rooms, performance space catering for a variety of creative arts, well-equipped gymnasium, hospitality kitchen, specialised construction rooms, senior study centre, homework centre, sporting oval, updated science laboratories and outdoor learning spaces.

Sport: Rugby union, football, hockey, cricket, basketball, tennis, badminton, OzTag, futsal, volleyball, lawn bowls, athletics, swimming, cross-country and table tennis.

Extra-Curricular Activities: Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of quality co curricular programs such as concert, intermediate and junior band, percussion ensemble, music tuition, public speaking and debating, Shakespeare Carnival, Talented Writers Group, the Homework centre, Theatre Sports, Drama Ensemble, Science Club, Coding Club, Chess Club, Volunteering Program and the Elite Athlete Program. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and SRC leadership development programs are also available. Both competitive and recreational sports are a pivotal feature of Ashfield Boys High. The school enjoys strong partnerships with its community, local schools and youth services.

Famous Ex-Students: Dirk Wellham (Australian Test cricketer), Trent Nathan (fashion designer), Angus and Malcolm Young (AC/DC band members), Craig Alexander (World Champion Ironman and triathlete), Danilo Radojevic (associate artistic director of the Australian Ballet).
