Named after the coastal explorer George Bass, this school was established in 1959.
Facilities: Modern hall, library, learning centre, computer rooms, art facilities, modern home economics and industrial arts block, drama and dance studios. The large grounds feature a farm, ovals, basketball courts and large recreation areas.

Welfare and personal development: Welfare at Bass High is based on strong discipline and mutual respect between teachers and students. The school offers peer support, a student council, work and careers guidance, a Years 7 to 11 camping program, Bass achievers, and a school community involvement program. Wearing school uniform is compulsory.
