PLC SYDNEY – PRESBYTERIAN LADIES’ COLLEGE, SYDNEY

PLC Sydney is a day and boarding school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, situated 10km from the heart of Sydney. It is home to approximately 1400 students and has accommodation for up to 65  boarders from both rural and international locations, offering a broad curriculum to students from a diverse range of backgrounds. Founded in 1888, the college is set within 4.4 hectares of landscaped
grounds and retains its 19th-century heritage buildings and gardens. Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Sydney, aims to educate young women from the basis of a Christian world view to make a difference in a rapidly changing global society.

Facilities: PLC Sydney’s state-of-the-art facilities include a new Junior School, Aquatic Institute with indoor heated pool; tennis and netball courts; an Olympic-standard gymnasium; fitness centre; Performing Arts Complex; Research Centre, Art, Design and Technology Studios and a Centre for Public Speaking. The school also includes a careers centre; on-site nursing staff; and before and after school care and vacation care.

Co-curricular activities: Students at PLC Sydney have the opportunity to participate in a wealth of co-curricular activities. With more than 50 activities offered in the Senior School and 28 in the Junior School, there is something for everyone.

Service learning and international opportunities: PLC Sydney has one of the best development and most extensive Service Learning and Overseas Education Programs in Australia. Service Learning offers students an opportunity to really make a difference in a variety of communities — local, national and
international.

The college offers three annual Service Learning Tours to Timor Leste, Vietnam and Central Australia. International exchange is an annual Year 10 program offering reciprocal placements in partner schools across the world, including Brazil, China, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, the Netherlands and Vietnam.

Other programs offered at the college include programs for gifted and talented students at both Junior and Senior School levels and the Transition Program for students with intellectual disabilities. More than 95 per cent of the school’s Year 12 students go on to university.
