A recognised centre of excellence in the performing arts,
Bowral High was founded in 1929 with the motto “Excelsior”. The school has
established a fine record of achievement in academic, cultural and sporting
pursuits.

gymnastics, golf and fitness.
Extracurricular activities: Vocal, instrumental (concert
band, training band, string ensembles), dance and drama ensembles, stage
productions (musical, drama), public speaking, debating, green team, chess.
Various other social and recreational activities, such as a trivia night and a
fashion parade, are also offered.
Welfare and personal development: An elected student
council and prefecture represent student interests, organise school functions
and promote charity work. Formal assemblies of excellence, a ‘recognition of
merit’ system, student supported transition programs, proactive welfare initiatives
to support students at their various stages of adolescence, and student
leadership programs support students.
