While the focus is on developing the key academic fundamentals, St Leonard’s College also strives to develop young people with enquiring minds who are capable of strong, critical thinking skills. The students of St Leonard’s College enjoy innovative facilities and learning resources that cater to a wide range of interests and provide a unique learning environment for academic and personal growth. The college’s ultimate goal is the development of character to ensure its students are confident and socially able to meet the challenges of further education, work and life.

Facilities: Modern facilities include well-resourced libraries, music and art centres, multi-purpose halls and sporting facilities such as the Hawkes Sports Centre with pool, aerobics room and weights room. A dedicated outdoor environmental centre, Camp Ibis, is located on the Gippsland Lakes.

: A broad academic curriculum is offered across all age groups, providing opportunities for each student to discover and develop their individual interests and talents. Subjects available include Mathematics, Science, Languages (French, Japanese, Indonesian, German and Spanish), English, Music, Information and Communications Technology, and a wide range of Humanities, Social Science and Commerce subjects. At senior level, students can choose to complete the VCE or International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The college is accredited to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

Sport: A variety of traditional sports and outdoor activities are available at
St Leonard’s College. Outdoor activities include skiing, snowboarding, surfing, equestrian, sailing, golf and surf lifesaving. The college takes part in mid-week
inter-school sports competitions through the Association of Co-educational Schools, leaving weekends free for family activities, other events and local community
sports teams.

Extra-curricular activities: St Leonard’s College offers a diverse range of co-curricular activities including debating, drama, choir, orchestra, photography, video production and bushwalking. Visual and performing arts activities are always highlights of the college calendar.

Student welfare programs: The strong pastoral care program assists students to become successful lifelong learners. It helps young people develop the confidence and emotional resilience to take advantage of life’s opportunities and overcome its challenges.
