Set on 42.8 hectares of grounds in beautiful rural surroundings, Chevalier was founded in 1946 by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. The school aims to provide a well-rounded and balanced education for students.

Facilities: Library, extensive performing arts centre, assembly hall/gymnasium, two chapels, squash courts, handball courts, tennis courts, farm, sporting fields.

Subjects Years 7 to 10: Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, Computing Studies, Drama, History, Geography, Visual Arts, Commerce, Japanese, French, Agriculture, Music, Technical Drawing, Wood Technics, Metal Technics, Design and Technology, PD/Health/PE.

Subjects Years 11 and 12:Religious Education, Studies in Religion, English (all levels), Mathematics (all levels), Modern History, Ancient History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Senior Science, Information Technology, Software Design and Development, Business Studies, Legal Studies, French, Japanese, PD/Health/PE, Agriculture, Music, Engineering Studies. VET courses include Building and Construction, Hospitality, and Primary Industry.

Sport: Competitive — rugby union, soccer, cricket, tennis, swimming, basketball, netball, hockey, softball, athletics, cross-country.

Extracurricular activities:Music, debating, Mock Trial, drama, cattle shows.

Welfare and personal development: Student welfare is overseen by Homeroom Coordinators, supported by school counsellors, a chaplain and vertical homerooms. Work experience and careers guidance are incorporated in the curriculum.
