Redbank Plains State High School has an explicit focus on individual students’ performing at the highest personal level. The school offers three clear career pathways for students and these are socialised and embedded through the schooling years. It provides a diverse range of academic, vocational, cultural, sporting and community-based programs for students. Quality internal programs such as university pathways include direct entry opportunities and scholarships for students looking to pursue university study.

The school provides a Senior Studies Centre where senior students can receive academic support and computer access to enable them to meet the 100 per cent completion requirement the school expects. For students seeking direct employment combined with further training, the “Choices not Chances” program offers tremendous opportunities for students to complete school and interface directly into further study or work with a partner organisation.

Extensive partnerships with local, regional and state and multi-national companies have positioned the school to deliver programs focussed on real job opportunities. This includes industry training with ‘on the job’ context and relevance and always recruitment aligned with student abilities, interests and life pathways.

Subjects/Electives Years 7 to 10: Students study six subjects and Access each semester. Students study a core comprising Access, English, Mathematics, Science and Geography/History. Students study a semester of Health and Physical Education (or Rugby or Soccer or Volleyball) and one semester of Language Other Than English (LOTE). As well students will select two electives, one for Semester 1 and one for Semester 2. The electives available are from the Technology and The Arts Key Learning Areas.
