Indooroopilly State High School is a co-educational Independent Public School with an excellent tradition and reputation for student success. Indooroopilly High’s curriculum is wide and varied, offering choices in Queensland Studies Authority and Vocational Education subjects, as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The school’s cutting-edge learning experiences, enriched by a strong international focus, ensure the talents and interests of all students are able to be recognised and cultivated. The school attained Council of International Schools accreditation in 2003.

Subjects/Electives Years 7 to 10: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Health and Physical Education, The Arts and Sport, with continued emphasis on numeracy and literacy. Further, students study a semester of Technology (Industrial Technology and Home Economics) and a semester of LOTE (Chinese and Spanish).

In Year 9, students choose three elective subjects.

In Year 10, all students study the Core Subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Studies of Society and Environment, and the Lifestyle and Personal Development program. In addition, Year 10 students will study three Elective Subjects.

Electives Years 11 and 12: In Years 11 and 12, students study an English course (English, English Communication or English for ESL Learners) and a Mathematics course (Mathematics A, Mathematics B, Pre-vocational Mathematics). Students select from a comprehensive range of subjects to build their course of study in line with their future plans and interests.

Sport: Cricket, Softball, Volleyball, Touch Football, Tennis, Basketball, Australian Rules Football, Soccer, Rugby League. Interhouse carnivals lead to district competitions in swimming, cross country and athletics.

Extracurricular activities: Educational excursions, competitive and recreational sport at various levels, Interact Club, special camps.

Welfare and personal development: Guidance and Counselling, school-based Youth Health Nurse, learning support, chaplaincy, gifted & talented programs.

Special features: Spanish Immersion and Chinese Acceleration language courses, Maths and Engineering Acceleration Program, additional qualifications including CISCO Certified Networking Associate course and Aviation Learning programs.
