Electives Years 11 and 12: Subjects offered for study in Year 11 and 12 at Boonah State High School fall into two categories – Authority and Authority Registered subjects. Students intending to proceed to university must select at least five Authority subjects. Students intending to proceed to TAFE or into employment may select a combination of Authority and Authority Registered subjects.

Extracurricular activities: Musicals, Camps and Excursions, Duke of Edinburgh.

Welfare and personal development: Career Advisor, Chaplaincy, Guidance Officer, School nurse.

Special features: Boonah State High School has applied to become a homestay school.

Vocational Education – Boonah State High School has been selected as a recipient of the Australian Government’s decision to fund 136 new Trade Skill Centres in 2014/2015. Work was begun on the new Bauernhof Trade Training Centre, which will provide greater vocational education and employment pathway opportunities.

The Agricultural Centre for Education Excellence will allow students to gain hands on experience in agricultural activities and be offered the opportunity to gain a Certificate II in Rural Operations.
