BILOELA STATE HIGH SCHOOL

Biloela State High School is located in Biloela, 125km west of Gladstone, in the Callide Valley. It is the only senior secondary school to serve the community.

The school’s educational priorities for all its students are to develop reading comprehension, academic writing, an ability to give and receive feedback for self-reflection and growth, higher order thinking skills, good manners and a mastering of e-learning skills for the 21st Century learner.

The school caters for a wide range of student abilities and has enjoyed an outstanding history of success in academic, vocational and sporting programs since it opened in 1963.

Sport: On enrolment all students are allocated to a sporting house for the school inter-house competitions in swimming, cross country and athletics.

Extracurricular activities: The school has an excellent reputation for its quality Instrumental Music program that offers students the chance to perform in a band or orchestra.

Welfare and personal development: Biloela State High School offers a range of support services including a Guidance Officer, school-based Youth Health Nurse, and School Chaplain.

Special features: The school provides a range of VET options for young people including vocational placement, work experience and school-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs).
